Friday, October 23 our “Friday Tasting” 5:00 – 7:00 pm …always ends at 7 pm sharp! –$5.00 fee–

Allison Blythe of Mitchell Wines will be pouring selections from Spain, Chile, Oregon and Washington.

Naveran Brut Vintage Cava $13.99
This wine is the least expensive vintage bubbly on the planet (taste it blind against a $40 non-vintage “big brand” Champagne). Made by the Naveran family since 1901. This bodega has a great tradition of crafting Cavas that are superb expressions of clean, bright, citrus-inflected aromas and flavors with the all-important tiny bubbles. -Ole Imports.

Milbrandt Pinot Grigio Columbia Valley 2013 $11.95
The 2013 Pinot Gris is crisp on the palate with lively flavors of white peach, a hint of cantaloupe giving way to a fleshy mid-palate with a clean, bright finish. Pairs perfectly with antipasti, summer salads, ripe white cheeses and simple seafood dishes such as steamed clams and oysters.

Stag Hollow Dolcetto Yamhill 2012 $22.99
Willamette Valley winemaker/grower Mark Huff’s 2 acres of Dolcetto were first planted in 1992, and he’s had growing success with this Italian variety. Aromas of plums, boysenberry and huckleberry cream include rustic notes of dried cherry and cedar with a whiff of sea air. There’s a bold purple fruit approach to the palate with more boysenberry and dried cherry along with red currant acidity. In the background, there’s a rub of thyme and tarragon, which is finished with a pleasing tug of chocolaty tannins. Enjoy with puttanesca or other tomato-based pasta. -Great Northwest Wine

La Antigua Rioja 2010 $16.99
“Indispensable as every night dinner wines,” our Tasting Panel and Stephen Tanzer fell in love with this 90 point rated, brilliant red. A blend of 50% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Syrah with big aromas of strawberries, cherries, with toasty/vanilla flavors and aromas from the oak, fruity and clean on the palate, it’s super quaffable any night of the week. -invino

Bodegas Barohonda Carro 2013 $10.99
Made with 50% of Monastrell grapes and 50% of Syrah, Tempranillo and Merlot grapes. Over 30 years old vineyards. The soils where the grapes are grown are made of limestone, sand and clay.
Strong cherry colour. Fresh in the nose with red berry scents. On the palate is pleasing, structured and with a great appearance.

Alpatagua Reserva Carmenere 2013 $14.99
The Apaltagua Reserva Carmenere is an intense wine, wild purple in color. From start to finish, the touches of tobacco, and red and black cherries intermingle, producing a great potency in the mouth. It possesses a generous body with smooth and friendly tannins. It is a well-rounded wine with a juicy and lingering finish.
